DotHealth

Total Branding for "DotHealth": Bringing Healthcare Into the Flow of Everyday Life."DotHealth" is a project that creates everyday touchpoints with healthcare —an experience that was previously only possible in dedicated medical spaces. By leveraging JR’s expertise in designing accessible public environments such as train stations, the project reimagines how healthcare can become part of people’s daily routines. In close collaboration with the de velopment team, we defined three core design principles: openness, clarity, and a sense of the future. MEDUM led the total branding effort, covering everything from the logo and signage system to the design of the “Body Measurement Pod” and the surrounding station space. Located within JR Osaka Station, “DotHealth Osaka” features the Body Measurement Pod developed by JR West and the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion for the 2025 Osaka Expo. Without any special preparation, commuters can take just a few minutes out of their daily journey to measure dozens of health indicators — ranging from skin age and body fat percentage to brain health.

To express both cutting-edge technology and the trustworthiness expected from a healthcare service, we designed the “DotHealth Font” using classic geometric elements —straight lines and arcs. Similar visual elements are reflected on the logo and icons, as the motif of the logo’s perimeter, “dots connecting to form lines” are echoed throughout the facility’s signage system.

The Body Measurement Pod features a clean, open look inspired by the aesthetic qualities of healthcare. White was chosen as the primary color to evoke cleanliness and openness, while JR West’s brand blue serves as an accent . The use of semi-transparent materials for the door ensures both privac y and visibility—allowing users to check at a glance whether the pod is in use.
